Director, BBF: Keith Mair

Keith is a qualified chartered accountant from the Victoria University of Wellington (NZ) and former member of the NZ Stock Exchange, with additional qualifications in teaching and basketball coaching.

His business career in the corporate sector included 16 years in the investment sector as a member of the NZ Stock Exchange and senior investment adviser and a further 16 years primarily in the world of accountancy. Following this he was Head of Sport Development for the Hillary Commission for Sport, Fitness & Leisure from1998 to 2002.

Since 2003 Keith has been the Chief Executive for England Basketball.

Keith also seved for 18 years as a Board member of Basketball New Zealand, including 6 years as Vice-President. He was Secretary-Manager of the Aorangi Sports Stadium for 10 years, and a member of the four-person sub-committee of the Christchurch City Council to build an 8,000 events centre.

As a respected coach at all levels of the game, Keith coached international teams for 21 years from1980 to 2000 where he was ultimately the head coach of the NZ men's team for 13 years.
