Stafford commented: "It was fantastic feeling, especially when Tom Maher called me up, he's a legend in my eyes.
"For him to want me to play is a very big deal."
She now has a contract with the Sydney Flames where coach, Karen Dalton, is sure of her importance to the GB Standard Life team:"She's an integral starting-five player for Great Britain, I'm sure she will do well," Dalton said.
"She's an experienced player and has a good understanding of the game."
