Standard Life GB player, Pops Mensah-Bonsu has clinched his third Turkish title this year with his side Besiktas as they won the TBL final this evening.
In the sixth game of the TBL Finals between Besiktas and Anadolu Efes, Pops' side grabbed a 80-76 victory to seal the championship title for the 2011/12 season. It is the third trophy Pops' Turkish side, Besiktas, have won this year as they add the championship win to the Turkish Cup trophy and and EuroChallenge victory.
Anadolu Efes was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Mensah-Bonsu contributed 10 points and eight rebounds to his side's win.
The last time Besiktas won the title was in 1975. They were the fourth ranked team of the regular season with 22-8 record. Pops and his Turkish side have had an exceptional season and he will now be preparing to enter GB training camp in Houston from the 14 June.
