The Standard Life GB Under-20's defeated Belgium 79-71 this afternoon in Namur in what was their final warm-up before the European Division B Championships next Thursday.
Devon van Oostrum and Ali Fraser both led GB with 18 points in what was a well-balanced scoring pattern for John Campbell's side, who were once again without head coach Dave Smart due to illness.
Jesse Chuku supported with 16 points for GB.
Assistant coach, Campbell commented on the win: "Down the stretch we made key defensive stops and were able to close the game today. We had excellent contributions from a variety of players in the final two minutes."
GB took he win despite starting slowly, falling behind to an organised Belgium team 27-20 after the first quarter.
But Great Britain clawed their way back into the contest, and took a deserved 44-42 lead at half-time.
The third quarter was more evenly matched, but as they went into the fourth period, GB held a 60-59 lead.
GB held on to clinch the win, giving them the perfect lift as they head to Bulgaria for the Division B European Championships.
