Facing Switzerland on Saturday, GB were able to start the weekend in the best way possible as they defeated the Division B team, 51-42. It was the first time the two sides had met since 2007 and behind Erin McGarrachan's team-high 12 points, Great Britain were able to establish a commanding 16 point lead at the half (30-14), a deficit Switzerland weren't able to overcome as Coach Griffioen's side recorded their third win of his recent GB reign.
Sunday's game against Portugal was the second time the two sides had met in eight days - the first resulting in the narrowest of defeats for GB, 52-51 - and unfortunately, Coach Griffioen's team couldn't avenge that result as they suffered another close loss to Rodrigues' women, going down 62-58.
Renee Busch top scored for Great Britain with 13, while Erin McGarrachan chipped in 12 in the defeat.
Great Britain must now turn their attentions to the competition in Debrecen, as they look to tip-off their tournament against Group D opponents, Russia, on Friday 16th August.
