Portuguese shooting guard, Daniela Domingues, has been in excellent form since the opening night, scoring in double digits in four of five games, including consecutive 17 point performances in Group G.
Great Britain have so far been unable to fully capitalise on the size of their squad - given to them by Jess Hurd, Cheridene Green and Erin McGarrachan - due to the fatigue of playing a high number of minutes on an injury depleted team.
And against the smaller, quicker line-up that Portugal are likely to play, GB Coach Griffioen is aware what his team need to do.
"Our strongest positions are our post players and we will try to get the ball inside to them," said Griffioen. "They (Portugal) have quick players and they like to press, so it will be tough.
"We hope to limit our turnovers because against Italy, they scored 22 points off our turnovers. So we need to do a better job there."
Griffioen advised that it is unlikely that any of the players currently side-lined through injury and illness will be back before the final Group G game on the 26th August against Portugal.
