By signing with an Australian side, she follows in the footsteps of fellow GB player Jo Leedham who competed in the WNBL last season for Bulleen Boomers.
When speaking on the club's website Stewart said: "The Australian league is one of the best leagues in the world and I can't wait to get there. I'm sure my game will improve playing in such a tough competition."
Lightning coach Peter Buckle added: "I worked with Azania while in the UK and she's a promising young big who rebounds well and will be a nice fit for us. I'm sure you will see her game develop throughout the season."
British Basketball's National Teams Director, Warwick Cann commented on her signing: "We are always pleased when our GB players are recognised and signed to play in quality professional leagues. More importantly I am sure Azania will develop her game to an even higher level through this opportunity and coach Buckle's input. Azania is such a large part of our 2020 vision as she will then be in her prime as a player."
