Paternostro told the Riders website: "I thought that Drew (Sullivan) was fantastic. We played without him in the pre-season, but after practicing with him for a couple of days and for him to take the floor and perform the way he did was fantastic. His stat line and evaluation looked very good, but I thought that he played even better than that showed. It was great to see him out there after not having him for the first few weeks and for him to make such an impact."
Jamell Anderson who attended GB senior training camp earlier this summer also played 26 minutes for the Riders and added five points and three rebounds.
Meanwhile, in Germany, Myles Hesson also enjoyed victory in his opening game with Giessen 46ers. His side defeated Leverkusen 79-57 with Hesson contributing a strong 12 points to the win. The 46ers play again tomorrow.
Over in America, two GB players have received call ups to NBA sides. GB forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu has accepted an invitation to join the Washington Wizards training camp while Eric Boateng joins the LA Lakers training camp roster. It is neither players first time attending training camps for NBA sides with Boateng enjoying a stint with the Denver Nuggets in 2010 and Mensah-Bonsu has had NBA appearances with teams including Houston and New Orleans.
