Elsewhere in the BBL, Drew Sullivan's side the Leicester Riders enjoyed success with a 78-43 win over the Cheshire Pheonix. Sullivan played over 30 minutes on court for his side where he top scored with 19 points, also clinching a huge nine rebounds for his side.
Meanwhile over in Brazil, the NBA held their first ever pre-season game at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. GB star Luol Deng suited up for the Chicago Bulls as they defeated the Washington Wizards 83-81 in a close fought game. GB team mate, Pops Mensah-Bonsu travelled to Brazil with the Wizards but did not play in the clash. Deng saw 26 minutes on court and added 14 points, five rebounds and six assists to the Bulls' victory.
Back in the USA, Joel Freeland played in a pre-season game for Portland Trail Blazers as they faced Utah Jazz. Portland secured a 10 point victory, 96-86, against the Jazz and Freeland had a good game defensively grabbing five rebounds for his side.
