International Career:

Lenzly has been a talisman for the GB programme since making his Great Britain debut against Georgia in 2007, helping the team secure a spot in European Division A. In the 2009 EuroBasket Finals, he scored 14 points against eventual champions Spain. After missing the following summer, he returned for the 2011 EuroBasket Finals, scoring 17 points in a victory over Portugal after some outstanding performances against Australia and China at the London Invitational at Olympic Park.

Attending Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Lenzly turned professional in 2003 with German BBL side Trier before taking in a further five European countries in his club career. In 2005, he won the Latvian League championship with BK Ventspils and was part of the Dexia Mons-Hainaut – coached by GB head coach Chris Finch - that made the final of the 2008 Eurocup. With CEZ Nymburk, Lenzly won the Czech league and cup in both 2010 and 2011. Mike featured in the EuroCup All Star Game in 2008 and made his Euroleague debut in 2011.

Personal:

Mike was born in Oxford and moved to the United States as a young child and grew up in Jonesboro in the State of Georgia. He has two siblings. He supports the Chicago Bulls. He cites his greatest Olympic memory as watching the United States Dream Team play basketball in the 1992 Games in Barcelona. Lenzly was inducted into the Wofford College Hall of Fame.

Trivia:

Mike’s mother Charlotte texts him before and after every game. “It keeps me level headed no matter the result,” he says.
