Born in Wandsworth, London, but raised in the United States, Hart has firmly established himself in the GB squad since making his international debut in the successful 2008 Eurobasket qualifying campaign.

Hart played for two years at Kansas State before moving to Europe for the 2004-05 season, taking advantage of his British passport by playing, briefly, in Croatia and, for the majority of the year, with Israeli side Galil Gilboa, whom he helped into the play-offs.

The following season again featured two countries, with Hart playing seven games for Nyon in Switzerland before moving to ZTE in Hungary. The 2006-07 campaign really proved Hart’s breakout year, however, with the guard helping Greek side Kolossos Rodou win promotion from A2 to A1.

His performance for the Greeks was enough to earn him a move to Keravnos in Cyprus, whom he helped win the 2008 championship, and his performances in that, and the following, season convinced management to sign him to a long-term contract which runs until 2012.

That year also has special significance for Hart, and the rest of the GB team, as he will, hopefully, be contending for a place on an Olympic Games roster. Hart made his debut for his homeland in 2008, logging significant minutes on the team that won their Division A qualifying group and was an almost automatic selection for Chris Finch for the 2009 Eurobasket Finals roster.

Chris Finch says: “Jarrett brings us back court versatility simply because he knows how to play the game, he has a real feel for it. He really took a step forward for us from year one to year two in terms of his consistency and productivity. I was really pleased with him and we now need to see the same sort of improvements in year three.”
