Fagbenle represented England at Under 16 and Under 18 levels before joining Great Britain’s Under 20 team in 2011, averaging a team-high 9.0 points and 8.3 rebounds at the European Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia. She was named as England Basketball’s Under 18 Player of the Year in 2010.

At 14 years old, Temi began her playing career with Haringey Angels in London before spending three years at Blair Academy in New Jersey, the same high school as Luol Deng. She was admitted into Harvard University but did not play her freshman year after being ruled ineligible to play until 2012-13. In her senior year at Blair, she was named as a McDonald’s All American, included on the Parade All-America team, and named New Jersey Gatorade Player of the year.
Temi was born in Baltimore, USA but spent most of her childhood in London. Father Tunde and mother Buki were both born in Nigeria. She has 11 siblings. Her brother, Dapo, played American collegiate basketball.
Temi was a talented track and field athlete, winning state champion titles in high jump, javelin, discus and shot putt. She has also done some modelling work.
